Renewable natural gas (RNG) is steadily growing in demand as a sustainable drop-in replacement for traditional natural gas that can help decarbonize municipalities, utilities, institutions and industry through its use in thermal applications and electricity generation. As of July 31 2023, 300 RNG facilities across North America were processing organic waste into pipeline-quality gas according to the RNG Coalition. This was up from 30 facilities in 2011. If you are a municipality or gas utility, consider adding a Microbial Energy Device to your existing or new anaerobic digesters to increase your RNG production for up to 5 times more RNG.
